Can be hard to ignore personal predjudice.

I did think how long can kids paint plastic toys for before they discovered girls - GAW! Big mistake.

Thanks re MKS - I think they double from here sill with ease, debt reduction, reinstated div, FTSE entry, earnings grow and PE expansion all feed on each other on the way up. Larger stores wil increase sales and margins too imo.

£170 for this weeks shopping today and no booze - wife had £15 of flowers tho, like every weekend.

It doesn't mater how many use options, it's a sentiment indicator and if the few that do use them are bearish then likely the market is too. It isn't just based on options either. The VIX often mirrors it too which again shows fear and greed.

Really? I can tell you if you are buying when it's around fear or extreme fear you are far more likely to be buying at recent lows where as buying on extreme greed you are likely buying a short term top. I've followed it for over 15 years. The recent high on the indexes was extreme greed. Now we are in the fear sector there's a great chance you are buying short term lows. 1 month ago it was 83, extreme greed, just as the mkt was about to make a recent high.

It serves no purpose because it means nothing as options (market hedging) in the US is not high and therefore the majority of the market are not fearful as yet. There are plenty of examples of this to support the market dynamics and it is another case of poor journalistic terminology that we see in the media headlines every day.

That was a good call on MKS Mr Rebel, I bottled it (the opportunity) when they were less than a pound, nervous about the dual CEO role and their history of disappointment, especially in fashion. They also frustrated me closing my local store and decimating the high street six weeks before Christmas - I let personal prejudice get in the way of professional judgement!

I still have concerns about the divergence in quality between the M&S food offering and the clothing offering, based however not on data but personal experience, so not necessarily reliable, and the numbers speak for themselves. They certainly have the strategic and operational momentum which bodes well. I like companies showing a lot of initiative as M&S are

It'll be interesting to see if they get left with much summer clothing stock.

Anyway I'll keep persuading myself I was right to sit this one out while I drink my M&S Sumatran coffee...

That Fear /Greed chart serves no purpose at all.

I'm of no opinion on the usefulness of the Fear Greed needle but surely if you're going to make a comment like that Charles it would have purpose if you explained why the chart 'serves no purpose'.
